We are often asked to deploy on Friday. Many times in the past, when after a long week we get asked to push X website live quickly for the weekend, or can we quickly make X changes on Friday afternoon to critical configuration.
Let’s be frank, it’s usually been a busy week we are brain-fried, Friday afternoon isn’t the day for that. No one wants to spend precious weekend time back tracking and fixing issues because not enough time was spent testing.
Henceforth new company policy Friday is No Deploy Day for Golives, DNS changes and critical work. If it can wait until Monday it can wait.
